Clan already automates the parts of HR that used to need a person watching over them: PF, ESI, and TDS are calculated automatically on every payroll run, and leave is approved by a manager replying on WhatsApp instead of opening a portal. Automation is not a future promise here — it is what already replaces the Excel sheet and the WhatsApp group.

Clan is not sold as an "AI-first" HR tool today — its differentiator is reliable, rule-based automation. The next step on our roadmap is an OpenAI-powered assistant that reads a team's own attendance, leave, and payroll data and answers a manager's questions directly, instead of making them dig through a dashboard.
